An insecure and highly dramatic struggling actress, for whom all of life is a performance, gets a surprising lesson in life and love when she asks a perfect stranger to answer her cell phone to intercede with an ex-boyfriend she can't let go of in this ten minute comedy play for one woman and one man.

"Alias Cinderella"

With a only a sexy, high heeled shoe to go by, hard boiled gumshoe Justin Thyme, goes in search of a mysterious girl who charmed a certain prince and then left him high and dry. In the course of his search Thyme encounters an egotistical Prince who ain't that charming, a tough talking shoe maker whose nose grows when he lies and an old flame by the name of Anna Reksic who Thyme suspects may be mixed up in a plot to scam the Prince and a lot more. Along the way our tough talking shamus suffers a crisis of confidence that threatens his career, his inflated sense of self importance and his well endowed ego. Roles for five males and three females. 45 minutes.


"The Case Of The Prince Formerly Known As Hamlet"  It's Hamlet as you've never seen it before, told through the eyes of one tough talking, hardboiled detective named Justin Thyme. Summoned to Elsinore by King Hamlet, Thyme finds the old man dying and promises to help Hamlet, the king's son, avenge his death. The problem is Thyme doesn't know who zotzed the old man. In his search for the killer Hamlet meets Gertrude, the King's widow, who can't wait to bury the old man and marry his brother Claudius who, in turn,  can't wait to bury Thyme. Then there's  Prince Hamlet who doesn't know what he wants as well a  dame named Ophelia who wants everything including Thyme..

Parts for fifteen men and three women. Approximately one hour./
CASTING NOTE: While this plays seems to have a large cast, all, but the lead roles of Thyme, Hamlet, Ophelia and Gertrude, can be double or triple cast with actors playing multiple speaking roles as well as filling in as members of the royal court, the pirate crew and soldiers. Claudius, King Hamlet and the Ghost can, and probably, should be played by the same actor.

"The Case Of The Tale Told By An Idiot" 

Justin Thyme, the hard boiled fictional detective, gets burned by an old flame by the name of Lady MacBeth, when he's hired to find out who zotzed the King of Scotland in this hilarious one act send up of Shakespeare's famous play. Roles for 6 men and 6 women. 30 minutes.

"The Case Of The Count Formerly Known As Dracula"  

Thyme travels to Transylvania to find out why the country has experienced a sudden shortage of virgins. No sooner does he arrive then his old friend Igor tells him him that the man who summoned him is dead. That's when Thyme meets the delicious Molly, takes refuge in an eerie castle, meets its master Count Dracula, gets locked in a cell, loses Molly, goes on a bender, recovers only to find Molly has become an undead bride of Dracula. Will Thyme defeat the immortal vampire? Will he rescue Molly? And will our intrepid gumshoe escape a fate worse than death when Molly proposes they marry and move to the suburbs?

Parts for seven men and three women plus several undead women. Thirty five minutes

"The Case Of The Really Big Dog Of The Baskervilles"  

Justin Thyme, fictional detective, heads to Sherlock Holmes country to find his client frightened to death by a four hundred year old hound the size of a Buick and a list of suspects that includes the slow witted heir to the murdered man's fortune, his butler, a butterfly collecting twit and a beautiful woman who immediately casts her spell over our detective. Roles for 5 men and 2 women. Thirty minutes.


"The Big Snooze"  

Did Humpty Dumpty fall or was he pushed? Hardboiled gumshoe Justin Thyme travels to a Peppermint Bay, a fairy tale land that ain't what it seems to be. Where, a missing dame may or may not want to stay missing. Where a murder may or may not have been a murder. And, where the only possible suspects may or may not have committed a murder that may or may not have been a murder. Solving a murder is hard. Solving a murder that may not have been a murder is even harder.  Roles for five men and five women. 40 minutes.




Five Tables

A woman, who can't seem to get over the jerk she was once married to, is wooed by five perfect men with each romance coming to the same bizarre conclusion. (Play calls for five male roles which may doubled. Unless, of course, you can find an actor capable of playing all five males.)

Pitch And Catch

 A baseball/softball catcher uses the rules of grammar to drive opposing batters crazy in this funny short play.  Four characters either male or female. 3 minutes.


Jeff vs. Dolores 

A young couple try to explain where it all went wrong when she kept changing and he never did in this short play for two people. One man and one woman. 5 minutes.



Dating Hamlet 

Ophelia dishes on the royal family while explaining why she has to marry Hamlet or die. 5 minutes.

Prince Charming's Complaint

An agitated Prince Charming vents to an unseen therapist about the pressures of living up to his reputation as every woman's fantasy and how it destroyed his marriages to Rapunzel, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. Ten minutes.
